About

Hey there, I’m Ashley Baxter and thanks for visiting the site! Who is Baxie404? Let me explain.

While waiting tables at The Gristmill in Gruene, Texas during my college years, I went by Baxter for a while because Ashley was a common name. After a number of bad Anchorman jokes and being serenaded with the Meow Mix song, the nickname Baxie was born.

How about the 404? It’s representative of the nerd in me. When surfing the web, an http 404 error signifies the server was unable to find what was requested. That doesn’t mean that the information doesn’t exist, only that it cannot be found at the moment and you should continue looking for information.

Throw those two elements together and you’ve got me! I’m on an unrelenting search to learn more about the world of marketing and promotion. My success comes from refusing to take the information I’m given at face value. I am forever searching and digging deeper into my passion for all things surrounding communications.

My Background

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a specialty in Public Relations from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. I also spent the summer of 2006 in Cuernavaca, Mexico studying Spanish and Social Work at Kukulcan Educational Community.  My resume includes a list of notable companies in the profit and non-profit sectors including a division of the largest Protestant hospital system in the country, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, and an Inc. 500 Top 10 Revenue Growth company.

Previous projects include Proxomo an intelligent matching technology I co-founded at the inaugural Dallas Startup Weekend. It seeks to remove noise and spam from social networking communication.
