You’ve Got to Start Somewhere
Where To Begin?!
You’ve got to start somewhere and I can’t think of a better place than right here and right now. Don’t get me wrong, I got my start a long time ago when I used to send emails to my best friend through Juno and dial-up Internet service. Even though the emails took about a week to get delivered, and I’d already seen her in person and totally blabbed the lame bits of info the email contained, it was the beginning of my fascination with all things related to communications.
I then went on to be one of few people in my high school who had music downloading capabilities (about 12 hours per a 4 min song, ha!), a AIM fanatic before it became popular, and a drone to all things Facebook and MySpace related. Those things put me at the forefront of technology in comparison to my peers… sad yes I know.
Despite my addiction to the web, I somehow managed to tear myself away from social networking long enough to study and graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. After realizing that my mom wouldn’t be happy if I continued to use my degree to wait tables, I began my career in marketing and communications with my interest lying largely in the online side of things. It’s what I do, it’s what I love, and I hope to be 100 years old updating my online profiles through telekinesis. As fast as technology has evolved in my lifetime, I may not be too far off.
Why The Heck Should You Care What I Have To Say?!
I’ve outgrown the age where “My mom thinks I’m special” is a good enough answer to the above question, so instead I give you this:
- My years of experience have made me knowledgeable in an array of communication channels and industries.
- My posts will contain relevant commentary on the communications world and the status its in.
- I’m honest even when it’s not what you want to hear, the truth sets us free.
- I want this to benefit us both, lets help each other learn.
- I like to talk a lot but promise not to ramble.
I’ll also provide a chuckle or two at times and you can always rest assured that I will be myself. It annoys me to see personal blogs that are nothing more than RSS feeds pulled from other sites or content the blogger paid someone else $5 per post to write… lame! The content I post will be my own. All guest bloggers will be properly identified. Also, pretty soon this blog, my twitter page, and everything else I stamp my name with will have a shiny new look. Keep your eyes peeled for it as I’ll surely be expecting some feedback!
